The Silicon Valley-San Jose Business Journal reported this week that Google is evicting one of its tenants, Omnicell, from the 120,000-square-foot Palo Alto space it previously leased to them, once the lease is up at the end of this month. That spells good news for Milpitas, though – Omnicell has announced that the company will move its corporate headquarters from the Google-owned space to Mountain View, and its light manufacturing operations will move to a new space at 735 Sycamore Dr. in Milpitas, come October. Omnicell is a publicly-traded medication and supply manufacturing company.
Milpitas-based Soladigm this week announced it is partnering up with Guardian Industries out of Michigan to develop and market “Soladigm Dynamic Glass” for the commercial building sector. A joint press release by the two companies this week explained that Soladigm Dynamic Glass utilizes “electrochromic” technology to switch from clear to tinted on demand, and enables control of heat and glare in buildings while providing greater comfort, uninterrupted views, and natural daylight. Company representatives said that Soladigm Dynamic Glass can significantly reduce heating, ventilation and air conditioning energy usage in commercial buildings, in particular during times of peak load.
Tech employees and business executives around the world can soon blame Milpitas-based harmon.ie for being held more accountable for work deadlines, and being expected to be more productive, even while on the road. Harmon.ie this week announced the deployment of its newest product, harmon.ie for iPad, which reportedly brings Microsoft SharePoint document collaboration and social interactions to the iPad. “Think of harmon.ie for iPad this way – colleagues no longer have an excuse that they couldn’t get work done on the road because they couldn’t get ahold of the latest version of a document, or they missed a deadline because they couldn’t give feedback in time,” said Yaacov Cohen, CEO of harmon.ie. “We basically just made the mobile business world all the more accessible – and accountable – by providing a secure, consistent enterprise iOS application for SharePoint users on-the-go. You’re welcome.” According to Apple, 94 percent and 74 percent of Fortune 500 and global 500 companies are respectively testing or deploying iPads – so harmon.ie for iPad could spell big bucks for this Milpitas corporation.

CNN Money’s report said analysts polled by Thomson Reuters were expecting 7 percent revenue growth in Cisco’s fourth quarter, which ends in July.
